I was thinking on getting an e-fax account. According to them, they’ll give you your own phone# where people send you faxes but you receive the faxes in your email address. This sounds very convenient because I could send or received faxes anywhere as long as I have access to the Internet.
Now my question is, anyone tried this before?? Sounds good but I’m a little bit skeptical. Any comments on this?

ERNESTO: WHY NOT JUST BY A FAX MACHINE?? I WOULD THINK THAT WOULD BE A LOT CHEAPER IN THE LONG RUN. I PURCHASED MINE FOR JUST A LITTLE OVER $150.00 5 YEARS AGO AND IT STILL WORKS FINE.

I have worked with e-faxes and have had good success. As you say, it is convenient being able to receive your fax from anywhere, and print them off from any printer. The draw back is when someone sends you a form and asks you to fill it out and return it to them, or you have a hard copy of something that you need to fax. That is where having the machine comes in handy. It's great to have both if you have the funding avaialable.

I have a virtual fax and phone number from callwave.com. I pay $7.95 a month and absolutely love it. I can have the phone number forwarded to any other number if I want or just have it take messages. I can also take the call at my designated phone if a call comes in and I see (with the free caller ID) that it is someone I want to talk to. $8 beats any price the phone company will charge me for a dedicated fax line. Plus the added benefit of being able to get my faxes and messages from anywhere.

Dude, you can't beat it. It is very convenient and your company can't give you better rate. I receive all faxes through efax and then send out through fax modem. I's a great combo.
