It is my understanding that TurboTax will only permit the completion of 5 returns, which sort of limits its use for preparing client returns. What other choices are there besides Lacerte and Intuit's Pro-Series tax software? Does anyone currently use either Pro-Series or Lacerte? What are the pros & cons?
thanks.

JACK. TECHNICALLY YOU ARE VIOLATING THE LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH INTUIT BY DOING CLIENT RETURNS WITH TURBO TAX. THEIR PROFESSIONAL PRODUCT FOR PREPARERS IS LACERTE AND PRO SERIES. I HAVE NEVER USED EITHER PRODUCT BECAUSE OF THEIR COST. I HAVE HEARD THAT THEY ARE DECENT PROGRAMS HOWEVER. ATX IS REASONABLE BUT THEY HAD A LOT OF UNHAPPY CLIENTS AND PROBLEMS WITH THE SOFTWARE THIS PAST TAX SEASON. PERSONALLY I USED DRAKE FOR 10 YEARS LEFT THEM FOR FIVE AND WILL BE GOING BACK TO THEM THIS YEAR.

Jack,

I have worked with Lacerte for several years. It's a great software but it's expensive.
I also worked with Ultra Tax, it's a good software and has a great price.
But my next software will be Drake. I like the price and the software too. I saw a demonstration last month and it convinced me.

Like Paul said, you could get in trouble using Turbo Tax to do client's return.

Good luck.

Ernesto
