Has anyone actually used the letters in module 4 for businesses in your area when you don't know the owner? I'm having a tough time believing you can just say in a letter that you will be at their place of business at said time and expect them to be there without any call follow up. Can someone on the Universal staff explain this letter to me?

Thanks

Derrick,

The letters work great. What we have found is that every successful freelancer starts in the same place, these letters will allow you to start your business inweeks not months. I would love to explain it to you. Please call our toll free number and ask for me. My name is David Sherwood.

Derrick, you do not tell them that you are going to their place of business. You tell them that you will contact them. You don't want them to know that contact means visit. Most people interpret contact as receiving a phone call. Instead you show up. I have a lot of marketing ideas that I have found to be affective. If you would like you may e mail me and I will tell you more about them.

Derrick,

I'm not on the Universal Staff, but I took the course. I recommend you lookup the business owners name by doing a database search with the local tax collectors office. This is public information. If the business owner isn't there when you arrive you will be surpised how helpful his or her staff will be. Yes, they will ask if you had an appointment, I counter by saying I sent a letter to (owners name) indicating I would be here today. In most cases they give me their card and a time when the owner will be available. You just have to go for it!
