Does anyone know if it is legal to put flyers offering my services on cars parked at shopping malls, etc. It seems like an easy way to reach a lot of people quickly and without a lot of time, but I don't want to get in trouble for doing that.

Can you? Yes you can. MAY YOU, is another question. Typically most cities have ordinances regarding advertising flyers, so the best place to check is at city hall.

I would say YES!
The only illegal way with flyers, is you cant put them in any mailboxes, or thats the law here in NC, otherwise, flyers are a good advertising piece, as long as it isnt too much on them.

I had done this for another business I was running. The mall itself took a dim view of it, and their security asked me to stop, (it is private property). That being said, there are other parking areas to canvas.

This was only my experience in B.C.

You should contact the Mall Security first, they usually have a no solicitating law,

I one was doing a detail business and passed out over 100 flyers, the security stopped me and luckily I knew the Head person in security, they made me take them all back,
it was hot and I was so nervous

You can not place flyers in mail boxes but you can mail a flyer to people via the US Mail. I don't know that placing a flyer on the window of someone's car would be effective. Most people just toss them onto the ground or shove it in the glove compartments. You have a better chance of getting people to read them when you mail them out to people. I hope this helps.
P.S. Most mall security will not let you pass out flyers.
