I'm closing an S corporation for a friend. The corporation is solely owned by one stockholder who is a dentist. Only incorporated for one year and basically has no assets. I've started to fill out form 966 (Corporate Dissolution or Liquidation). Is this the only federal form I need to file? Any other information would be appreciated as well.

You should also notify your State Department of Incorporations to find out what forms they want you to file. Also, don't forget that you will still need to file a final tax return for the partial year.
