|

| Currently I have QB pro 2004. I recently got a client that just purchased the 2005 software and wants me to set it up on her home computer and transfer the file for her company back and forth as needed. My question is, when I install QB on her computer will I be able to access her file even though I have an older version of QB? I would hate to buy an upgrade already after only two months of owning the software. Thanks, Derrick |

I am sorry to let you know, that, you will need to purchase 2005, in order to use her file on your computer. You cannot transfer back and forth between years. When you instal the new version on your machine, be sure to install the new files in a seporate directory than your 2004 version. That way you can work with both years of files.
I still have QB from 99 until now, just because occationally I find someone who has not upgraded.
This is a great marketing move for QuickBooks, but not so much for us as the end users. |

| You don't actually think INtuit is going to give you a break do you??? That is why the company's name is Intuit. As far as your wallet is concerned they will constantly go in tu it. |

| The years are not compatable unfortunately, however they do have a another option, which is remote access. I'm not sure if you have to have the 2005 version to get that subscription - but it does handle the problem of incompatable years. |
