| I have a situation where I would like to encrypt my clients tax files (in this case Lacerte Tax files). I am not aware of an encryption program taht run on windows that will "seamlessly" encrypt and decrypt the tax file as I use the software. Does anyone know of an encypting software package that will seamlessly encrypt/decrypt my tax files. I know of several encryption programs (like Kryptel) that allows me to encrypt excel, word, text files etc and when I open the file, the encryption software runs and prompts me to decrypt the excel files (or whatever) and open the file in the application. But for tax/accounting database tables etc ... I dont thin kthis will work. Im looking for something to run on top of windows and seamlessly encrypt and decrypt as I use all my aplications - any ideas ? |

Well, of course the files could go somewhere other than my computer. I have servers at the office and a laptop I take with me. All containing "private" information that anyone who stole the computer would have access to. Financial statements of companies, personal info, etc.. Hence my original question.
