I have just ran across a site called bookkeeping.com. This is suppose to be a site for bookkeepers to advertise their business. Has anyone out there had any experience with this site? If so, would appreciate you sharing your experience.

| Don't know what marketing methods you are using. One of the best I've heard of involves going to your County Clerk's office and getting a list of new DBA's filed. Send letters to these new businesses outlining your services. Then make personal contact with them approximately one week later. Many new businesses have no clue as to what bookkeeping services they need. You can be their lifesaver by putting their business on the right foot from the beginning. |

| Make sure you are emphasizing your competitive advantages in whom you market to. Then, sell the sizzle, not the steak (see article in Universal Accounting's Marketing web site) |

Linda,
Just to clarify, our Directory site is www.bookkeepingHELP.com and we advertise for bookkeeping, accounting and tax professionals of all levels of service, throughout the U.S. and Canada. Many of our listing clients report landing new business from their ads. You may review some of the comments at www.bookkeepinghelp.com/why_advertise.htm |

Bryan,
Do you think that small CPA's with accounting practices would be a good source to pick up free lance bookkeeping work?,,,thanks for your thoughts |

I just want to update on how my meetings have gone. One of the accountants is willing to work with me and his present customers as well as working to increase his numbers. So I feel that that went well today. so well that I have contacted the remainder of the Accounts that are in my local phone book I live in a small town and there are not that many so felt like I could contact them all. I have been reading about contacting new business but I am unsure how to word the letters I am good with numbers and not with words, so if someone could maybe E mail me a sample of what they have used. I thank anyone who replys
