I am running into some issues marketing to some local CPA firms. Anyone have any ideas what is the best way to market to these firms. Bought the Universal Acct package last summer with no mention of how to approach these firms through phone calls. Any help would be great

Typically the best approach has been to call them and let them know of your experience and that you are a free lancer and are willig to do the write-up work or tax prep work for them as a contractor. Remind them that you have heard that the biggest problem CPA's have is qualified staff. tell them of your qualifications and also tell them if you do not do taxes thatyou will refer tax work to them if they will refer or outsource work to you. Using my Professional Bookkeeper title has gotten me work.

Thanks for the response and will make about 25 calls today to see how this strategy works. One other question, how much do you charge a small local CPA firm for your services? Your going rate or do they tell you what they will pay you? Thanks

I use the method taught in Universal Accountings "Professional Bookkeeper" course. Do it based on transactions. This is a benefit to them because they will always have a flat fee and know their costs. Contact a Universal Accounting coach and ask them how to price.
