Hi,

I have not purchased the UA bookkeeping course yet, but am considering doing so and receiving the Quickbooks package as well. I was just wondering if any one has seen that knowing Quick Books is a major advantage - something that a lot of small businesses really look for. Thanks!

I am not sure QB is the best software out there, but they have an enormous market share and almost all business owners out there want it. You might as well get used to it. On other words, learn it, use it, and love it.

Thanks for the response Andrea. Just another question - should I make sure I know QB before I even try to get my first client, or will I be ok with the paper method I'll learn from the course? I actually just decided to purchase the course yesterday, but held off on getting the QB part because of financial reasons. I plan on getting it eventually but thought I would wait until I had completed the course. Would you say this is wise?

Going through the course is a wise idea, and so it buying a copy of QB and spend some time with it. As far as a getting a client goes, you should probably wait until you are at least somewhat comfortable with QB. Clients can sense it if you don't know what you are doing.

Richard: I think we all know your opinion on QB by now, and I am very impressed that you are continually able to convince small business owners that there are better alternatives out there. I have never been able to do it.
