I am planning to start my accounting business using the universal accounting course. I currently work for a small CPA firm doing some accounting, payroll.. etc. I want to continue to work while I get my business going. Any suggestions on whether I should let my employer know what I am planning to do? I do not want to lose my job as I need the income until my business gets going?

Hi Janet,

I would not say anything as of now. It can come up in conversation here and there that you took on a small job to help out a friend, etc..and just let it naturally grow. They may use you, anyway, for their own clients. A lot of my work comes from CPA firms.

Good luck!
April
