I am an Accountant in Mexico living in the USA. I am preparing to open aa bookkeeping & tax service office. My question is what should I put on my business cards. I've been working for 5 years here. I know that I can't use CPA but what about accountant ? Thanks in advanced for your help.

Check with your state board of accountancy to see if they permit the use of the word accountant for non-CPA's. Most states do, but it's good to check it out, just in case.

CA does not allow you to use "Accountant", if you are not a CPA.

Finish the Universal Accounting course and take the final exam successfully. You will then get the Certified Bookkeeper designation. That is a fantastic title to use on your business cards.

You can not just say you do accounting. You need to check with the state board of accountancy first
