Our local Chamber is hosting a business expo, where local businesses can set up a booth for 1 day to introduce themselves to local residents & potential clients. The fee is $300.00 I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with this type of marketing. Is it worth it? Or would I be better off just going there and introducing myself to the vendors that have set up.. I feel funny doing that because they have paid their $$ to recruit new business and I'm their pushing mine. Thanks for the advice.

Kimberly,

If you do pay the money, the key is in the follow up. Try to give away something away and collect their contact information for the drawing. Tehn follow up with them. Even if you have a booth there you will want to go and visit all the other booths anyway.

If you choose to not get a booth, do not feel bad about approaching each booth. Every booth is there to talk to other business owners. The key is the approach. Do not go up to them and start selling your services to them. Ask them what they do, if they are the owner and introduce yourself simply. Again, the key is the key.

Kimberly, I am one of the marketing coaches for Universal accounting. Remember that you have marketing support with the Professional Bookkeeper program. Email me and I will give you my personal script on how to approach businesses at a Expo.

Hello David,

I am getting ready to host a booth at a restaurant expo. I would really like the information you were offering Kimberly. I also have a paid support plan with Universal right now.

I appreciate it!!!
