What is so terrible that happens? "Nothing!" Nothing is about the worst thing to happen to startup businesses.

P.T. Barnum said this many years ago. It's at least as true today. Great promotion is what turns great skills into a great business and a terrific income.

Don't be shy. Let us know the kinds of things you have tried to find new clients. We all know about networking groups and business card marketing, both of which are excellent ways to find clients. What I want to hear are your "war stories" about things that you have tried that worked for you. The more unusual, the more likely that we haven't thought of them, so open up and let us know what works for you!

Take a look at articles from this week's accounting and bookkeeping tips newsletter about how to get noticed when finding clients and on the job.

If you haven't already created an account on the forum, click on the "Create Account" link at the top of this page. It only takes a minute, and lets you do things like getting email notification when someone has posted to an article you have created, or just one that is of interest to you.

There's a lot of truth in what you are saying, and so many people need to just make the decision.
