I am about halfway thru with the professional bookkeeper course so I have not reached the marketing section yet. However, a small construction company has asked me to take over their bookkkeeping. They are an older couple, with an even older bookkeeper who has been doing everything manually. She currently spends 14 hours per week on their bookkeeping in their home office.
Any suggestions on how to approach them to let me do their accounts in Quickbooks on my computer without them fearing losing control? |

Maria,
First thing you may want to do is to show them all of the reports that can be generated from QuickBooks. This may require that you have them purchase the software and then let them do some of the data entry.
Another option could be that you let them use a manual system like Universal Accounting's "Bookkeeping Made Easy" This is a manual system that would allow them to do some of the work manually and them you take that work and put it into QuickBooks. |
