Just curious if anyone has any great ideas for drawing in Income Tax returns? There is lots of competition out there, and prices vary, and business hours vary...

Hope these basic ideas would help you
1) Design a newsletter and mail them in once a month to your target market. In the newsletter talk about changes in the tax code that might interest most of the individual taxpayers. Talk about different credits they might be entitled to. Give examples about different common situations in which you'd explain clearly differences like qualifying child and qualifying relative, etc, etc. Invite your prospects to send you an email with questions about taxes. In other words, through the newsletter, tell them that you are part of the solution and not part of their problem. Dont forget to include a few business cards.
2) Set up a web site. It doesn't have to be fancy, rather clean. Update the web site frequently with news, tips and, as it could not be another way, invite the visitor to suscribe to your newsletter. Add a contact form, encouraging them to ask any question they would have in mind about taxes.
No matter what you do...reply FAST. Most of the prospects would like to see that you do care for them.

As you said, there is lot of competition out there. However, that happens virtually in any field. What you would barely find is a good customer service. Just look around you and answer these questions:
- What makes you come back to a restaurant over and over again?
- What makes you trust in your mechanic or plumber or electrician?
- What makes you decide between XX or YY phone company?
etc, etc, etc. Bet you that you'd not forget to mention customer service.

Just my 2 cents
