I am thinking of renting a small office space somewhere because I just don't like meeting potential clients at coffee shops or elsewhere because it is alway noisy and very distracting. I feel some business owners who call don't like that I work out of my home and chooses to go elsewhere.

I think if I rent an office somewhere it would be easy for clients to stop by and drop off records and alot easier for me when I'm meeting them for the first time.

What do you all think??

Hi,

There is a office building close to me which offers Virtual Offices. You use their address, their telephone number which has a live body who answers the telephone and takes messages for you. Your name is even on the front building rooster. When you need an office for an hour or so to meet a client they will have it set up for you so that it looks like it is yours. Clients can drop off their paperwork at the reception area. Kind of a neat concept. I wish I would have thought of it. Not sure of the fee, but I have some associates that use there services and they have told me that they really like it. You can also rent an office of your own as well.

Something you may look into. Could be less expensive than leasing.

It actually is an advantage that you do NOT rent office space. Renting space costs so much in overhead that it should be a selling point that you do not. Also, you are able to spend more time working on their books as opposed to always being distracted by walk ins and such.

The few times I have been asked about it, I have offered to do so but when I explain the increase in costs, it usually becomes a moot point.

Trust me on this, If you can help a business lower their taxes and increase their profits, they will NOT care if you work in your bunny slippers from home or in a three piece suit on the penthouse suite.

I personally would have a problem renting
from an outfit mentioned above. There is no control
over who sees or what is done with the paper work
when it is dropped off. New federal and state laws could
make you personally responsible for any breach of security.

Stick with the Office in home.
