Just want to know your opinion about UAC tax course in comparison what is available outside
Let me do a list of what you can find "outside" for yourself al lower cost.
-You can take a course in H&R block for a lot less money but you need a lot of time to get the overall picture.
-You can go to IRS web site and read all the info they offer or attend seminars too.
-Read books about the subject you are interested.
-sort through the info as a tax preparer employee vs a freelancing
I would like to weight the pros and cons about this UAC course. |

| One of the pros of UAC tax course is that if you pass their final exam you get to use PTP after your name. :) |

When considering tax training there are some questions you may want to ask yourself.
When is the training offered
How is the training provided (classroom, homestudy)
What is covered in the training (individual and/or business returns)
What is the goal of the training (employment, career advancement, self-employment, starting or building a successful practice)
What credentials are available upon successful completion of the training
What is the background of those offering the training
Just some food for thoughts

Universal Accounting teaches very extensive both individual and corporate taxes.
One of the great features of the program is that it is on DVD's, so that you have a classroom setting, then you do the work in the workbooks. The exams are taken on line. If your not sure of something you can go back and review the DVD's and catch up on the part your not clear on.
We also give you one year of support for any questions you may have.
If you have any questions, about our tax course I would be happy to answer them for you. I can be reached @888-265-1123.
Best Regards,

Having taken some H & R Block training, I can tell you that it is very good, but is geared toward their proprietary software. It was good training, as far as it goes, but part of the time was spent learning to use their program, not in learning basic tax concepts. In that sense, the UAC is much more thorough.
The IRS website is helpful, as are many books out there. I actually use the IRS website alot, and several reference books as well--there is so much to know! But as a TRAINING program and not just a knowledge resource, the UAC course is much better. You could spend YEARS on the IRS website and still not be sure how to begin. It isn't set up as a training course, it is a source of information about specific tax subjects.
