Although I feel I have followed UAC's marketing program, I am still having trouble finding new clients after almost a year. I am thinking of putting a one page flyer in my local newspaper. It would cost around $200.00 for one week's circulation and I am wondering if anyone has done this with good results. Any input is appreciated.

Andrea,

I have heard of some doing this to attract clients. Some with success and some with not. The question is if you can afford the $200 to test.

Regarding UAC's marketing program, please contact your marketing coach or contact me and I would like to see if there is anything we can do to assist. Please email me your letters and we can discuss how you have done them. Also, we can discuss your networking efforts to see if they can be enhanced.

Hope to talk to you soon.

Save your money. To be effective marketing exports reccommend that you send the ad to each address to be effective. An effective rate is considered anywhere between 1/2 of 1% to 3%.. Not only that you might end up having the same experience that I did. I paid our local newspaper $1700.00 to enclose a mailer for five weeks. I had to go to their office one night and they were closed. I thought maybe some onw would still be around so I went to the back of the bldg to chec. GUESS WHAT I FOUND AROUND 5,000 OF MY FLYERS IN THE DUMPSTER. WHEN I COMPLAINED TO THE ACCTG DEPT FOR BEING BILLED I WAS TOLD EITHER PAY UP OR TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.

Hi there,

I have found the best way to get new clients is through referrals, so you need to network. Sign up in the local business association, sign up on Internet forums.

Also, there is the old fashioned way of canvassing, it is time consuming, but will only cost you, your own time.

Advertising in the local paper is probably not going to be very effective unless you keep advertising over a long period of time

Cheers,
