My client has purchased a new computer. Do I start depreciating it on the month that was purchased or do I start the following month?

Thank you.

For book purposes, depreciate it over 6 years, starting with "Placed in service date"(date you started using it) straight-line. For Tax Purposes, MACRS 200%, over 5 years, except for AMT, which should be at MACRS 150%

Hope it helps

Thank you.
