Hi, Could someone please recommend a good (preferably free) simple to use, home accounts software please.
All I wish to do is manage my home budget. I.e. my income and my out goings etc. Just very basic home accounting.
I would like one that is very simple to use.
Please help.
Thank you. |

Hi smudger - I'm not sure if there are any 'free' accounting packages out there. I know of a couple that have very annoying ads and constant internet connections when you use them, but I would avoid using them at all costs. There is a free 'open source' office software package called open office. It's similar to Microsoft Office. I use Microsoft Office but an associate of mine (who is very anit-microsoft) uses open office and is very happy with it. It gives you a spreadsheet application, very similar to Excel which should be fine for your needs. The web address is:
http://www.openoffice.org/
For home accounts that are not free but cheap, use Quicken Basic. I think it's $20. I found a bargain version of Quicken 2004 for $12.00 here:

Good luck! |
