I just want to make sure that I understand the differance between these titles and their performances. I don't want to get in trouble by the law. As long as I dont call myself a CPA, CPE, PA, and dont cerify any reports then I should be in good standing with the law. RIGHT?
I took a course Called: "Accounting Specialist" at a private business college and received a diploma 3.96 gpa. Can you call yourself an ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST and still be legal and not certifing reports. What other titles are there that require registrations and permits. I want to stay clear of those too.

CPA: Certified Public Accountant
CPE: Continuing Professional Education
PA: Public Accountant (obsolete in most states)
PB: Professional Bookkeeper (designation offered by Universal Accounting Center to those mastering the Professional Bookkeeper course)
AS: Accounting Specialist (Title assumed by some, but not regulated nor is it designated by any organization or state)

Most state will allow you to call yourself an Accounting Specialist, although a few states do restrict the term "Accountant" to CPA's.
