What reassurances can I give my husband that this program truly works...marketing and all. We have invested money into many business ventures only to come out empty-handed in the end. Can anyone tell me how you got your business up once you got the training from UA? How are you doing now?

What reassurances for your husband - none.

If you like bookkeeping, then that is a good reason to take the course for the proficiency. You will also be investing more money in QuickBooks in all likelihood.

Marketing is a separate, but obviously very important part of this "venture". If you are not a good marketer, this will not make you better. Do you have a network of friends, businesses that can help you build your business? If not, expect many months of "pounding the asphalt" or spending money on advertising with unpredictable results.

I spent additional money on one of UA's additional marketing offerings and I would not recommend it. Spend your money in your own community with someone local. Also, do not pay a large amount upfront for it. Pay a little, get some results, pay a little more, get more results. You decide if you are getting value for your dollar.

Hope this helps.

There is a marketing section in the CPB course that gets you pointed in the right direction. I would also recommend the Practice Builder program. Having a step by step plan for marketing is the only way to do it successfully. The practice builder resources teach you how to do this and provides marketing strategies that you can implement on a "local" level.
