|
|
This post is for those of us who are looking to start or strengthen our online marketing campaigns. Two essential tips:
1. HIRE A COLLEGE STUDENT TO DESIGN YOUR SITE
If you don't have a site or are looking to build a new one then stay away from professional web-design firms and hire a college student. Most practices don't require an extremely complex site. Paying $2000-$5000 for a professional design firm is crazy when there are so many talented programmers and designers at college who are very eager to add a new site to their portfolio. Post an add on craigs list and you'll be shocked at how many responses you get.
2. USE THE NEW "SOCIAL NETWORKING" SITES
There have never been so many free and easy to use sites on the web that can help you promote your practice, use them! You can either pay thousands for search engine optimization and pray to be found on google, or go to a site where people will search you out. I'd recommend the following:
MYLOCALSPOT - Like a myspace for small businesses and incredibly easy to use. Create a free profile with pictures, a description of your practice, and any promotions you're running. Edit your profile at any time and keep clients up-to-date.
CRAIGSLIST - Post a free ad on the site and link to your website. It's free exposure for your practice and unlike your website on google, you actually have a chance of people finding you.
BLOGGER - Very easy to use, you can create a free blog about your practice. Offer expert advice and opinions on various topics and keep current clients up-to-date with what's happening with your practice. |
