I currently work for a financial services company and do not enjoy working in a corporate environment. Have been thinking about starting something on my own offering bookkeeping, payroll, things along those lines. Something along the lines of a small business support company. I do not have the knowledge to work with small businesses in bookkeeping and accounting and have been looking for training material, and found this web site. Just wondering if anyone would be able to share any experiences about growth rates as far as obtaining new clients? Obviously individual commitment plays a large roll, but just curious about some individual experiences. As with many corporate positions, hear the rumors about lay-offs almost weekly, getting tired of worrying about losing a job I don't really care for and looking to make a move. Thanks for any experiences you can share.

There's hundreds of testimonials from past graduates on this site at . I myself picked up three clients in my first month and have talked with several others that have done even better. The key is just to get started.

| I ran across the UAC site myself. I showed it to my friend since I knew she could afford the course. At the time I couldn't afford to buy it even one module at a time. We ended up studying together. I opened up my own firm and got clients immediately. If you pound the pavement enough you will hit pay dirt. This course is well worth it. Plus you get the bonus of getting to tell the job you hate X's and O's I am out of here. |

About 1/3 of the students enrolled in the Professional Bookkeeper Program have little or no prior experience in accounting or bookkeeping. Whether they are motivated by the great opportunities that are available to them in this carrer or from a self-employment stand-point is for each of them to say. Here are what what some have said:
This course was excellent. I started with little or no accounting experience and by the end of the course I have enough knowledge and confidence to take over most any small business's books. -Cindee Bahr
I would recommend this course to anyone. I came in with little knowledge and a desire for marketable skills. I cam out with much more. This has given me the confidence I needed to run my own business. -Rebecca Crowther
