| I've been seeing signs that say "no soliciting" outside many small businesses. Now that I am actively marketing my business, would going into a place to offer your services be condsidered as such? Just curious. Should I avoid these businesses entirely? |

Charity,
If you are a student of the Professional Bookkeeper (PB) course I will suggest you to use the "Key 3" marketing method for those types of business. The Key 3 are the first 3 marketing method taught in the fourth module of the PB course.
I have not had anyone have a problem when I approach them in that way? |

In my experience so far it is tough to just walk into a business and ask to do their books. The first thing you need is visibility. People will come to you if they know you are there.
Effective networking is going to be your marketing bread and butter. Join your local chamber, attend the events and take your business card along. I would also consider hosting a business after hours.
Finally if you want a quick start to your business contact universal about the client generator. I arranged my first one this week and am really excited about seeing the results. |
