|
|
I am using Peachtree Complete Accounting 2004. It is an educational version I received when I took a college accounting course.
I use it for bookkeeping for two separate companies. Whenever I follow the instructions to backup one company's files, the backup function will backup the other company's files as well as the one I have open for the backup.
I want to use a thumbdrive to backup only one company's files, and a different thumbdrive to backup the other company's files, for privacy.
At some point I may want to hand the thumbdrive over to an appropriate party, but do not want the other company's data on the drive.
Anyone ever experience this problem? I feel I am missing something crucial, but cannot see it. |

| You'll have to select the individual company file to backup for the backup. There should be a prompt to select that file within Peachtree. |

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I do select only the company I want to backup.
When I open that backed up file(from the thumbdrive, where I saved it) on my computer, I can see both of my companies there.
I wonder, though, if I handed the thumbdrive with the backed-up file on it, to someone who was going to use it on a different computer (with peachtree installed, of course) would they only see the file that was selected for backup to that thumbdrive? ...or would they see both as I do on my computer? |
