I am thinking about buying a cheap used copy of the books from 1999-2000 so I can check out the material before I decide whether I want to make the $$$$ and time commitment of registering as a UA student. How different are the current course materials from those published in 1999-2000? Thank you.
(I do understand that there are a lot more things that come with the real course that I won't get with a second-hand copy of the books, I just want to know if the 1999-2000 books are representative of the curriculum that is taught now or if there have been significant changes/improvements.) |

Hello there Jacqueline.
The course materials provided by Universal Accounting in the Professional Bookkeeper, PB, program are reviewed and updated each year. Due to fact that the principle fundamentals of accounting have not changed in nearly 500 years the course changes are minor.
What has changed is that a few years ago the PB course was overhauled as to the teaching method so that the accounting concepts are more easily understood and applied in real world situations. The course is much different now than it was in 2000 especially when comparing the lessons found in the DVD's now offered and the DVD's (VHS) offered then. (This is not to mention the items which you bring up such as the ability to certify as a PB, the student support etc. available to you when you enroll as a student of UAC)
I hope that answers your questions.
