Hey can anyone help me out with this problem? Im trying to learn on my own because the teacher is well not so good. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
Domino Foods, Inc., manufactures a sugar product by a continuous process, involving three production departments—Refining, Sifting, and Packing. Assume that records indicate that direct materials, direct labor, and applied factory overhead for the first department, Refining, were $355,000, $132,000, and $93,600, respectively. Also, work in process in the Refining Department at the beginning of the period totaled $25,500, and work in process at the end of the period totaled $31,200.
b. Journalize the entry to record the transfer of production costs to the second department, Sifting.
I already journalized the entries to record the flow of costs into the Refining Department but have no clue what to do to record the transfer.
NVM I FIGURED IT OUT THX ANYWAY. |

| The transfer is easy. Work completed in the first department is transferred out to the next department by debiting WIP inventory. |
