How much more of a profit do you get when adding a payroll service and all the costs associated with payroll. does it take a long time to input?

Do you mean how much more cost effective is it to process it yourself using payroll software rather than paying a payroll bureau to do it? If so my advice is to stick to using a payroll bureau. Because they do it in bulk they can keep it cheap whereas you have to pay an annual fee for the software and the processing can be quite labourious

You can make a decent profit providing payroll services to clients. The QB Enhanced Payroll for Accountants allows you to process payroll for up to 50 EINs on one subscription (which is only $100 if you're a ProAdvisor).

I have to agree that in some cases the enhanced payroll for accountants is ideal.. Unfourtantly in my case I found it lacking for a number of reasons. It does not support my state or efile and it charges extra for direct deposit. As a result, I only use it when I am actually doing the payroll, (not the client) and they do not care about direct deposit or having have to mail their returns.

You're right it is .99 per direct deposit. They do have efile/epay for Federal and I think 20 states (with new states being added all the time).
