I'm just about to start working on my very first website. I'm pleased to say that my chosen domain name is available for every extension out there. Does it make sense to snatch up all the available extensons like dot net, dot org, dot tv, dot biz, dot us, dot mobi, dot info, dot jobs, etc., (sorry--had to do it this way because the website wouldn't let a newbie post a URL, even though they weren't URLs, just the extensions) besides just dot com for your domain name, thereby ensuring that no one else will get your business?
Also, if I do invest in registering for all those extensions, can I set it up to where no matter which one is visited, the viewer is sent to my primary website, so that way I only have to set up one website but will get the benefit of several? |

| Yes, you can 'point' the other URLs to your main website URL. As to whether you should by all the extensions or not--I don't know what to tell you. They don't cost much individually, but all together and every year can get costly. Some of the other extensions aren't really widely used. |

Personally, I wouldn't bother to buy anything but the ".com". If I were GOOGLE or MICROSOFT, I would. Keep in mind that new extensions will be rolled out down the road and that would be an additional cost to bear if you choose to scoop them all up.
Best of luck,
