Can anyone comment on the tax preparer program? Did you find it beneficial and worth the money? I'm going to purchase the accoutning/bookkeeping program but am unsure about the tax preparer program. Any feedback would be great. Thanks.

I found the tax preparer program helpful. Although I have to take the same basic information through a Calif. school, also.

I understand that the Tax Program is being re-written and re-filmed, is this the case? If yes, when will it be released?

Also, if I bought the Professional Tax Preparer course previously, can I upgrade for a small fee to get the new course?

Mtnair, my understanding is that if you pass the tax preparer course you get your CTEC certification also.

Mtnair, my understanding is that if you pass the tax preparer course you get your CTEC certification also. Of all the products universal has offered the only one I have not taken advantage of is the tax preparer program. The reason for this is simple. I have been doing taxes for close to 40 years and the course would be overkill for me compared to satisfying my continuing ed requirements. THAT BEING SAID, WHEN CONGRESS DOES PASS A LICENSING LAW, THE FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS FOR ME WOULD BE TO ORDER THIS COURSE.

I believe UAC really hit the nail with the Tax Program.

The Tax service you can offer goes hand to hand with your bookkeeping service. Beside the program greatest asset is that it will teach you to "run your own tax service" and not as an employee of a tax service franchise. I like that.

And another thing is that If you get to do a Schedule C for a new client you will immediatly know if this business keep good records or not and you can follow up on him and offer your bookkeeping service.

Is the UAC Tax program expensive? That's depend. If you really use it then is an investment and you will eventually recoup your investment in one tax seasson. Maybe UAC will give some UAC tax program example to wet our appetize and help in the decision to buy it.

Also I was just wondering if you get the UAC tax program would you will get free future updates in the tax code or tax related issues? questions, support?
