Hi All,

I have just finished up my 2yr Accounting Diploma, and am persuing my CGA (Canada), I am also in the process of starting up my own bookkeeping/personal tax return business on the side. I plan on starting small, is Pro sufficient? If my client list is to be minimal, lets say 1-5 clients? Or do I need the versions with Payroll etc? I plan on servicing small business owners (proprietors), some who may or may not have employees. We were taught Simply, and Quickbooks, and I am Quickbooks all the way. Just wanted to know which version will do me?

Or, should I just sign up for the ProAdvisor Program, which I believe gives you the Accounting version?

Any recommendations?

Any recommendations? Forget about getting payroll. It will be of little value to you. I personally prefer the accountants edition but pro will work just fine.

I stand corrected. I called my pro advisor support line and Intuit does indeed have a payroll program for Canadian users. However it is different than the US version. You can call 1-888-333-8580 (canadian toll free number) for more information

I appreciate your feedback, I think I will do the Pro Advisor program (Canadian version) and receive the Accounting Version, and the tech support etc. Seems to be the best approach for long term Quickbooks success, as far as a bookkeeping business is concerned.

If your budget is able, the pro adviser program is the best way to go.
