When tracking a fixed asset in QuickBooks, what should be typed in the "Asset Name/Number" box? It looks like it won't accept the same name twice.

Thank you

You should type the name of the asset you are going to track such as "Computer Equipment" or more descriptive could be "Main Printer". You should also create an Accummulated Depreciation sub account to the fixed asset so that as you enter depreciation expense for the asset it will reduce the balance of the fixed asset.
