Hi Everyone! I am currently taking an accounting class and we are using the cengage program to submit our work. Pretty much you answer the questions and then select check your work and it tells you if your right or not. Everything has been going good and making sense to me until I came across this problem. It tells me to find the dividends. I keep getting 33,000 for dividends and even when I solve for something else, like say stock issued and use 33k for the missing dividends I get the correct number for stock issued. But the cengage program is telling me that 33k is incorrect. So I was wondering if any of you here could tell me if I am right or not ? If you could I would REALLY appreciate it! Thanks!

Beginning Owners Equity: 48,000
Stock Issued: 20,000
Revenue: 230,000
Dividends: XX,XXX (33,000 ?)
Expenses: 245,000
Ending Owners Equity: 20,000

Okay, no need to reply to me here now. I figured out that it was indeed the 33k, only that I had to put parenthesis or a negative in front of it to show that it is negative towards the account if what I'm entering are dividends. :)
