Can you help?? I would like to know if a cpa license is required to open an accounting/income tax office.

You know something, I think that's true. My sister has a CPA, who as a matter of fact failed to tell her that he wasn't licensed in the State of Florida, told us that we can write off hair salon visits. That never sounded right to me. I did come across an IRS guideline that said that we are not to consider something like that an expense. |

| A CPA license is not necessary to have an accounting business. However, to represent a client before the IRS one must be a CPA, EA, or licensed lawer. |

Many many more bookkeepers know nothing about taxes. CPA's that know nothing about taxes, practice in areas of their expertise. They are barred by a condition of their license not to hold themselves out to the public as an expert in and area in which they are not qualified. Bookkeepers, not so much. |
