I am preparing the design of my business cards and am stumbling on a few issues. (1) can I use the word Accounting service/business if I am not an Accountant, (2) I don't want to use my home address on my business cards but I know a PO box does not look professional. I have passed the Bookkeeping course. I live in California and cannot call myself an Accountant without being a CPA.
Any advice or suggestions from those familiar with these issues would be appreciated.
Thanks |

You should check with your state on the rules about using accounting in the name of your business. As for an address, there are mail places/businesses that allow you to use a street address instead of a PO Box.

| You can use the word accounting service only if you are able to resolve customer's issues at all. If you don't have expertise in it then you must hire an experienced person who can resolve the related problems. |

As you live in California you can not use the title Accountant. I would stay away from the use of accountant in your business name also. Just use Bookkeeper.
Go ahead and use the P.O. Box. Your falling into one of the biggest problems freelancers find... Your stuck on this and have not moved forward yet. Remembar that people do not hire you for your business name or what address you have, they will hire you if they think you can increase their profits and lower their taxes. Make those decisions and just get a move on and get started.
By teh way, as a student you can ask yoru coach many of these questions. |
