I would like to take this time to comment on the FOLLOWING STATEMENT MADE ON THE THREAD "AWESOME BOOKKEEPING SCHOOL INEXPENSIVE"
I took correspondence classes at this bookkeeping school. They offer correspondence, or classroom courses. They offer everything you need to be a bookkeeper, and a ton of stuff you need to be an accountant. It's way less expensive than college courses, and the teachers are professionals
First of all I went to the schools website and noticed THAT THEY MAKE THE STATEMENT THAT THE TRAINING THEY PROVIDE IS FOR BOOKKEEPING AND NOT ACCOUNTING. Secondly, to compare a school that offers bkkpg taining to a college that trains accountants for big corp. is like trying to compare a MD to a heart surgeon. Thirdly to teach
accounting in a college the staff need to be professionals to imply otherwise is justly simply being bias. Finally I found the training provided by Universal more complete, cheaper and more beneficial THAN ANY 4 YR DEGREE PROGRAM OR SCHOOL LIKE THIS ONE PRAISED.
If anyone has any questions feel free to e-mail me.
PS I am not an employee of Universal just a well
satisfied client of Universal who has a 4 year degree in accounting |

| I have a BS in accounting and economics and have owned a successful tax service for several years. I am "satisfied" with the course but must say I am dissapointed with the lack of in depth discussion regarding " construction accounting", how to deal with new client's books that are in absolute dissaray. The method of calculating partiall complete inventory ( WIP) for a manufacturer I feel also is too simplified, and will result in an inaccurate ending inventory. The course starts out very nicely but, in my opinion, loses its depth rapidly. For instance, the city cycle example introduces many new accounts, semi-complicated inventory tracking, and all of the journals are filled out>? It seems to me that if any of the books should be worked by the student, this would be the one. Overall, I would recommend the course, but think it needs some updating. |

| First of all the chances of you getting a dealerships accounting is slim to none since most of them have in house accounting workers. Secondly I do think some areas needed to be worked on a little more but I would say those areas would have been more like clothing stores, small restaurants etc... Since those will be the types of companies that we will work with the most. I think the program was very proactive and what you feel you are lacking in you will quickly gain in work experience. I don't think you will get many manufacturers anyway. Give UAC a break they are trying to help people to make a better way for themselves. Also remember CPA's are geared to work for the fortune five where the accounting is much more complicated. Small business accounting is not all that complicated. |
