Hello there,
I started a business selling advertising space on my website. I got caught by surprise because I'm landing tons of clients pretty quickly and they are paying me on the spot.
I have 4 employees as of yesterday 6/29/04, I only pay them commission only per written agreement, but I have them on W2s to keep control of their activities.
I got quickbooks but I'm trying to set it up the right way.
My questions are:
Should I employ an inhouse quickbooks person to handle all of this?
Or Should I retain a bookeeper and pay a monthly fee?
Or Can I do this myself if shown the right away?
(I can learn to do things if I'm shown 10 or 20 times).
Thanks a bunch,
J.

Hi JN,
Let me answer your question in regards to the proper direction to take with; YES, YES, YES. You can retain an onsite person, use a service or learn it yourself. It sounds like your business plan is working (maybe better than expected) so stay with it and use option 1 or 2, ie., get help. No sense becoming what I and others are unless you REALLY prefer bookkeeping to running your advertising business. There are advantages and disadvatages to both option 1 or 2. I would be happy to discuss them with you. Rodger Regele, MBA, QuickBooks Pro Advisor |
