I have a small custom cabinetry business. Myself and two/three employees and a handful of subcontractors each year. I have been using One Write plus for eleven years. It is being discontinued by Peachtree. Should I convert to Peachtree or switch over to Quickbooks or another accounting software program. I'm looking for a program that will help me with job costing, payroll, billing and possibly proposals along with record keeping and tax accounting. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

| PeachTree and QuickBooks will both handle the job. Personally, I would choose QuickBooks Pro. It is easier to use for a non-accountant and because of it's popularity, if you do have a problem, it is much easier to find someone to help you. QuickBooks was originally written for a construction company, so it can handle all that you suggested very easily. You will want to go with the Pro version rather than basic, but, you do not need to worry about the contractor edition for what you are doing. |
