When a lessee has a BPO, are they required to exercise it?

Depends on how the contract is worded, but by definition a bargain purchase option is to insure it is exercised. Example: a company I worked for several years ago leased a Dell server and color laser printer. I believe the BPO was $1. It would make no sense not to excercise the option. If they didn't they'd be out several thousand more for a different server and printer.
