Is it true that I cannot use "accounting" or "accountant" in my business name if I am not a CPA? I'm starting an accounting and bookkeeping business and I find it strange that I can not use accounting in my business name.

You are fine in Wisconsin using Accountant even if you are not a CPA.

:D Hello,
I am new here, just started the program. Does anyone know about California. I have been researching and can't seem to find anything except info on the CPA exam.

Lindaluj,

In California you can only use 'Accountant' if you ARE a CPA. If not, you will have to use Bookkeeper or another title.
